Wilma “Willy” Pearl Evans 52, passed from this life Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Oklahoma City. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, July 26, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Wilma Pearl Evans was born in Woodward, Oklahoma to Fredrick and Annebell (Smith) Owens on May 28, 1958. She grew up and attended school in the Woodward area where she met and married Rick Evans on April 18, 1973. They then made their home in Woodward and were blessed with a daughter Amber Dawn Evans. Amber was one of her greatest joys in life. She also enjoyed animals and always had a pet.
Willy worked for the Clothes Care Center for 17 years where she did alterations, pressing and dry cleaning.
She is survived by her husband Rick; daughter Amber and Fiancee Chris Bickle of Woodward; her father Fredrick “Buck” Owens and wife Annabel; one brother Terry Kraft; sisters, Mary Hammons and husband Joy, Marie Janzen and husband Scott, Anna Binns and husband Daniel, Sherlin Moore, Karen Bronzen and husband Tony and a host of other family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Willy was preceded in death by her mother and one sister, Rita.
Willy enjoyed sewing, watching wrestling and going to the Rodeo when her health permitted. The family would like to give Special Thanks to all of the wonderful healthcare professionals who cared for Willy over the years of her lengthy illness. Each Nurse, Doctor and Therapist is appreciated.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics with the funeral accepting the contributions.
