Dear Jackson Family: Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one, Mike.  It breaks our hearts when death separates us from the ones we love so much, especially when they are young as Mike.  The Bible assures us that God sees our pain and sorrow and has promised that soon, "death will be swallowed up forever." (Isaiah 25:8) He will heal our broken hearts by resurrecting our dear loved ones to life again.(Acts 24:15) Until then, I hope the wonderful memories of Mike and these promises from God comfort you in the days to come.

K.C. Mo.,
Mike and I had been good friends all through High School. Many mornings, I would pick him up on the way to school, but we would end up eating breakfast somewhere and being late. It’s amazing that we graduated! It is because of the close friendships forged in that time (Me, Mike Jackson, Chris Castor, and Mike Fleck) that I consider that some of the best times of my life.

My memories of Mike are many and deep. We were roommates in Colorado when I moved out there to attend Nazarene Bible College (Which Mike attended too). Mike and worked at a couple of places together during that time, such as Chuck E. Cheeses (Yes he dressed in the Mouse Costume more than once! haha) and we also worked at Starbucks together. They were good times hanging and trying to make ends meet.

We took many road trips together and attended a lot of different concerts and Churches . We made a wide network of friends that we both had a lot of fun with. We talked about music, life, and God. Mike was always very thoughtful when it came to those things. Although we were not close these past ten years as I would have liked to have been, my many memories of Mike will forever impact me. Many memories came back to me in a forceful way since the event of his death.

With this short reflection I would like to add that Mike’s death points me to assess my own faith journey and important reflection about my own life and relationship with the God of the Christian Scriptures. It is with my personal hope in Jesus, the One who proves death loses, that my faith in God will press on. My hope is in God’s absurd grace and the love God offers to sinful rebels like me (and Mike). I believe Mike knew that grace and responded to it. My honest hope is that there will be a day where resurrection is something I participate in as well as Mike because of Jesus’ cross event and God’s forgiveness. I will be challenged to love others more and connect more with those who mean a lot to me and not let important relationships pass me by.

I'm Very sorry for the family's loss!

Woodward ,
I knew Mike through the projects he worked on for my business. He was a quiet professional who was very creative and well-respected here in Oklahoma City. He made some really amazing pieces that are in commercial and residential spaces all over the city.

My thoughts are with you during this time of loss. We'll miss him here in OKC.
