Betty Rose Scott, 88 year old Woodward resident, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 in the Mooreland Heritage Manor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jeremy Skaggs officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Betty Rose (Scharnhorst) Scott was born on July 16, 1924 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Owen and Bessie (Darbor) Scharnhorst. She was reared in Woodward County and attended school in Woodward. Betty was united in marriage to Clifford Orlan Scott on October 26, 1941 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They moved to the farm south of May during World War II to help with harvest and planting season. Betty also helped put up the garden. Shortly after Betty and Orlan returned to Woodward.

Betty was a member of the First Christian Church of Woodward. She loved caring for her children, tending to her garden, sewing and working on crafts. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and other family meant the world to her.

She is survived by her sons, Clifford O. Scott Jr. and wife Shannon, Randall Lee Scott and wife Sandra, John Winfield Scott and wife Cindy, all of Woodward; daughters, Deanna Doris Scott Carrell and husband Marlyn of Dumas, Texas, Linda Eulane Scott Perrin and husband Jay B. of Woodward; 20 grandchildren, Kae, Harold, Wayne, Lori, Tommy, Donald, Forrest, Kelly, Matt, Angie, Jenny, Clifford Marston, Scott, Chris, Sherie, Sarah Jane, Randall, Michael John, Kelby, Brock; 33 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifford Orlan Scott in December of 1986 and one son, Matthew George Scott, II on September 22, 2010, brothers, Earnest, John Oliver and Bobby Duke Scharnhorst, and sisters, Clara Mae Stober, Donnie Lue Webster Ruby Carol Scharnhorst who died in the Woodward Tornado of 1947 with her mother.
